Amitabh Bachchan on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah!

Amitabh Bachchan on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah!

Big B is making giant impression on the small screen with his latest outings for Bhoothnath Returns promotions

Amitabh Bachchan visits Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah after gracing Kapil Sharma’s hit comedy chat show Comedy Nights With Kapil. However this is not the first time that Daya Ben and Jetha Lal have Bollywood biggie in the house. Earlier Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan were also on this fun show to promote their movies. However, the friendly ghosts presence will do to TMKOC stars.

Apparently Big B was in the house for almost three hours and didn’t just can his shot, but inspired the other stars with his acting prowess and dedication.
Looks like Bachchan Sr is leaving no stone unturned to promote his next movie and with competition Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan out of the box office race, AB can take the centre stage and prove his mettle as a megastar

Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor’s kiss, hug and PDA a publicity gimmick?

Alia and Arjun’s sizzling chemistry on and off the screen has grabbed a lot of attention. Also, their recent appearances at the promotional events have sparked off rumorus about them being more than just friends. But all this love and affection – is it for real?

There is no denying the fact that Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor look great together in Dharma Productions upcoming film 2 States. And I am sure most of you’ll agree that these two will make a cute couple in real life too. In fact, reports are doing the rounds that something is brewing between the 2 States co-stars. Well, anybody would think so going their recent appearances at the 2 States promotional events. From getting all mushy to posting cute selfies on Twitter, Ms Bhatt and the Kapoor lad just can’t get enough of each other. And just a few days back we heard how Arjun almost kissed his onscreen ladylove while the two were promoting their film on a college campus. Not forget, even Alia’s daddy dearest Mahesh Bhatt suspects the two are dating. However, the lead pair of Karan Johar’s next has never admitted being in relationship and we are glad coz we do think Alia and Arjun are just good friends.

Ayub Khan: I don’t have time or the expertise to join Aam Aadmi Party!

Why Katrina Kaif is a misfit to play the lead in Bajirao Mastani?
Yogen Shah

We certainly can’t imagine Katrina playing Mastani in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus which we hear will have Ranveer in the titular role. Yes, the Dhoom:3 babe has come a long way in Bollywood but we can’t say the same about her acting, hai na?

We all know Sanjay Leela Bhansali is keen on roping in Deepika Padukone to play the lead in his long impending project Bajirao Mastani. Apparently, the dusky beauty is still mulling over the offer as she has been approached by Karan Johar too forShuddhiSince Ranveer Singh is going to play Bajirao in SLB’s next wethinks Ms Padukone would be the perfect choice to plays his Mastani onscreen. However, we now hear that Katrina Kaif is also being considered for Bajirao Mastani. We dunno how true this piece of information is coz as per media reports Bhansali doesn’t want anybody else but Deepika to play Mastani. In fact, the Ram-Leela director is even ready to adjust his film’s date as per DP’s availability. That’s what the reports claim. Considering the dimpled beauty is such a fine actor, we aren’t surprised that SLB is willing to go to any lengths just to get her onboard.

Ayub Khan: I don’t have time or the expertise to join Aam Aadmi Party!

Ayub Khan: I don’t have time or the expertise to join Aam Aadmi Party!

Ayub Khan says he could not join Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which was giving him a ticket from north west Mumbai constituency, due to prior work commitments in the TV industry

Ayub, who is known for his portrayal of a family head in Uttaran, believes it would be difficult to be a full time politician. ”I was asked to join AAP from North West Mumbai. But I don’t have the time or the expertise to devote to this profession (politics). I am for AAP whenever they need me. I believe that the newly formed party is bringing a change in the society,” said Ayub, who was busy shooting for his upcoming TV venture Ek Tha Rusty II.
Now, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) alumni Satish Jain is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from that constituency, which is going for polls on April 24.
A lot of Indian actors are trying their luck in politics this Lok Sabha elections and Ayub sees it as a good change. ”The best thing about polls this time is that people have come away from the pre-conceived notion that politics means earning lot of money. We can see that people want to bring a change more sincerely. I can’t comment on anyone’s intent but I wish every colleague of mine good luck. Everyone is feeling little patriotic towards the country,” said Ayub, who recently addressed a rally in Ghatkopar in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.

In Ek Tha Rusty II, which is based on author Ruskin Bond’s short stories, Ayub will be seen in a quirky avatar of a cop.

Soundarya: Dad did Kochadaiiyaan not because am his daughter!

Filmmaker Soundarya, who is making her directorial debut with Rajinikanth-starrer Kochadaiiyaan says her father agreed to be part of this mega project for the script and not because she was his daughter

“Once he was convinced about the script and that it requires a certain kind of technology then only he said yes.
Because the kind of action sequences you will see in Kochadaiiyaan, it is not possible in live action or in visual effects to get this kind of impact. Only after he was convinced about this technology he agreed to do the film and not because I was his daughter. That did not even make a difference. I was confident of handling the project and my father said ok go ahead,” said Soundarya.

Kochadaiiyaan music review: AR Rahman brings out his best for Rajinikanth!

Rajnikanth, AR Rahman

Music: AR Rahman

Lyrics: Mehboob, Irshad Kamil and Raqueeb Alam

Singers: Raihanna, Arijit Singh, Jonita Gandhi, Javed Ali, Shashaa Tirupathi, Karthik, Shreya Ghoshal, Raghav Mathurs, AR Rahman and  the Kochadaiiyaan Ensemble

Rajinikanth’s latest film Kochadaiiyaan sees him being directed by his daughter, Soundarya R Ashwin. The film has been in the making for almost six years after which it is now finally ready for release. First time in India a film has been made using the motion capture technology. The film has Deepika Padukone paired opposite the Superstar.  Will this AR Rahman-Rajinikanth combination be able to create ripples in the music world or not? Let us find out in the song by song music review.
Aye jawaan: Sung by AR Rahman and Raihanna, this is an anthemic song. This song has a bit of an eerie feel to it and will surely grow onto you. The lyrics by Mehboob motivate you a lot as a listener.

Dil chaspiyan: Sung by Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi, this is a sweet romantic duet. Written by Irshad Kamil, this song is soft and breezy. The way in which Rahman manages to blend western instrumentation in a typical Indian Classical melody is par excellence. This duet reminds you of the initial days of Rahman in the music world when he used to give similar heartwarming melodies. This track is definitely a marvelous one and will surely touch a chord with all the romantics.

Main Tera Hero movie review: David Dhawan gets back his Govinda charm in Varun Dhawan!

Varun Dhawan, David Dhawan, Illeana D'Cruz, Nargis Fakhri

The king of comedy is back with a mindless but full on entertaining movie

David Dhawan is blessed to have a son like Varun Dhawan! Varun not just brings out his own best but also seems to have brought back the same old energy in papaDhawan. Main Tera Hero is a typical David Dhawan style movie, which is light-hearted, formulaic, masaledaar but full on energy! Sr Dhawan’s past few films have not being doing that well at the box office and people considered the reason was the ageing of his best leading man—Govinda. But it seems David has found the perfect replacement for Govinda in son Varun Dhawan.
In Main Tera Hero, David uses a tried and tested formula but has given a  new dimension to it, which is lot more energetic and has many such comic punches which will be pretty popular among the masses. He has been ably supported by a good screenplay and some terrific one-liners. This movie will not be an extraordinary cult classic comedy, but will give you wholesome entertainment.

Sajid-Wajid’s music is splendid. Each track has been brilliantly composed so as to make your foot tap at every beat. Tracks like Besharmi ki height, Shanivaar raati and Palat are well choreographed as well.

Who needs a Golden Kela? Sonakshi Sinha has something better
This picture was posted on Twitter by @sonakshisinha
Somebody give Sonakshi Sinha another award. The jury is out on whether she deserved her Golden Kela for R...Rajkumar (fans argue there were worse performances) but she for sure deserves an award for being able to see the funny side of most things.

Sonakshi tweeted this hilarious picture of herself with a real live version of the offending fruit saying: Wht to do with a 'golden kela' when i got the real deal right here? 4 rs. only and edible too! Kela ppl-u want? Hehe

On March 29, Sonakshi was named the worst actress of 2013 for flop show R...Rajkumar. Ajay Devgn was the worst actor for Himmatwala and even Aamir Khan wasn't spared for his critically pannedDhoom: 3 role.

Nothing if not a good sport, Sonakshi took it in typically self-deprecating spirit.

Fool's paradise: When Bollywood stars tried to fool fans

Fool's paradise: When Bollywood stars tried to fool fans
Sridevi, Juhi and Rekha tried to conceal the news of their marriage
On April Fools' Day, we chuckle as we recollect a few incidents when stars tried pulling a fast one on the world and even succeeded only till we got smarter.

Married? Never

It is said that veteran actress Shyama fell in love and married her director Fali Mistry in 1953. But Shyama was so worried about her career getting affected because of her marital status, that she hid her marriage for hold your breath - 10 full years! It was only when she got pregnant with her first son Farooq, was she forced to tell the world about her marriage.

Juhi Chawla

Juhi Chawla used the same trick in 1997 when she secretly married businessman Jai Mehta. However, she continued denying any relationship and is said to have even referred to her husband as "just a good friend". It was only when she got pregnant with her daughter did she reluctantly talk about being married to the man. Later, Juhi confessed that she did it to save her career as she was sure that offers would start dwindling after marriage. After her, Mahima Chaudhury and a few others tried hiding their marriage unsuccessfully.

Sridevi

For Sridevi, career was not the only issue. Her 'husband' Boney Kapoor was still married to Mona. So Sri went on denying the relationship till her baby bump started showing. She is said to have later tried covering up the deceit by saying she herself was not aware of being pregnant. Eventually the couple had no choice but to admit to the relationship. Now deceased Mona had then confessed that the fact that the news of Sri carrying her husband's child had come as a bolt from the blue for her. At that point, she had said, "There was nothing left in the relationship to give it a chance because Sridevi was already with a child."

Rekha

While these actresses later confessed about their deceit, actress Rekha is still hanging on to her version of the story that she was never married to actor Vinod Mehra.
