
For starters, the CoolPix A becomes the first camera in the range to feature a DX format CMOS 16.2-megapixel crop sensor. Previously, such sensors were reserved for only Nikon DSLR cameras. It comes with a wide angle 18.5mm fixed focal lens with a f/2.8 aperture. It costs Rs 54,950.
The new entrants in the CoolPix P series include the P520 and the P330. Both are extended zoom cameras, but the P520 has a Nikkor lens that offers telephoto like capabilities with a zoom range of 42x. It has a 18.2 megapixel sensor. The CoolPix P330, on the other hand, has a 12.2-megapixel 1/1.7-inch sensor. Nikon claims such a sensor will reduce noise in images. There is also an updated version of the P7700 and all the cameras in the P range cost between Rs 16,950 and Rs 24,950.
