Thor wasn't lying about that return business. Marvel has released the first trailer for "Thor: The Dark World," the upcoming sequel to 2011's hit "Thor."
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander and Christoper Eccleston, "Thor: The Dark World" picks up after the events of both "Thor" and "Marvel's The Avengers," with Thor (Hemsworth) bringing Jane Foster (Portman) back to Asgard for a quick hang (and some hero stuff). The film also offers fans a chance to see what happened to their favorite ne'er-do-well villain, Loki (Hiddleston), who was banished to Asgard in Thor's custody after "Marvel's The Avengers."
"You must be truly desperate to come to me for help," Loki sneers at Thor toward the end of the trailer.
"You should know that when you betray me, I will kill you," replies the Norse god.
"When do we start?" Loki wins! (Which means everyone wins; he's the best.)
Directed by Alan Taylor, "Thor: The Dark World" arrives in theaters on Nov. 8. It's the second "Avengers" movie in theaters for Marvel this year, after "Iron Man 3."Watch the trailer in HD over at Apple.
