The Chennai Express babe was shown the exit door from Sajid Nadiadwala’s big banner film Kick and Jacqueline Fernandez will now play the lead gal opposite Sallu
Deepika Padukone has been expressing her desire to work with Salman Khan for a long time now. And she was almost finalised for Kick just when Jacqueline Fernandez entered the scene and impressed the makers with her fencing skills in Race 2.
We hear DP was zeroed in for the role because the lead chick opposite Salman had to indulge in some high-octane action and Ms Padukone fit the bill perfectly. But looks like Deepika’s closeness to Shahrukh Khan made a certain Mr Sallu bhai go green with envy. All the praise he showered DP with after watching Cocktail vanished into thin air. Seems like DP’s strong friendship with SRK clouded his judgment of casting the leggy lass as a hardcore action babe in this film. Also if you have kept a track – DP is back to being friends with her ex beau Ranbir Kapoor who doesn’t exactly feature in Sallu’s good books because of his super cool (ahem ahem!) relationship with Katrina Kaif. And amidst all this brouhaha, Jacqueline Fernandez is making the most of her freedom. Now that she’s released herself from Sajid Khan’s stubby fingers, she can give her nod to whatever project she likes – in this case, Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick being the first instance.
