Whistling Woods to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema with the screening of Bombay Talkies, Sholay 3D and Raja Harishchandra
The unique annual initiative of Whistling Woods International (WWI) is poised to get bigger and better. This year, instead of looking back at the glorious past, WWI looks ahead at the golden future of Indian cinema over the next 100 years. Titled Cinema 100 – The Next Wave, the event on May 11 and 12 will explore the growth of cinema in the coming century.
Speaking on this initiative, Ms Meghna Ghai-Puri, President – WWI, said, “We are very glad to be organising Cinema 100 once again. Last year, we had a tremendous response from the Indian film industry folks who came and interacted with the students in their endeavour to honour Indian cinema. Cinema 100 was such a success that we decided to celebrate it every year. This year, we look at where Indian cinema is poised to go over the next 100 years. With a fantastic line-up of workshops and celebrity panels, Cinema 100 – The Next Wave promises to be a spectacular event.”
