Why is Kalki Koechlin miffed?

Why is Kalki miffed?

Rumors about
Kalki Koechlin’s failing marriage with Anurag Kashyap have created quite a buzz. Recently, at Glamour Style Week 2013, Kalki was supposed to walk the ramp. It was reported that designers Riddhi and Siddhi taunted her and called her a ‘mentally disturbed’ woman!Kalki who looks like a calm and cool chick lost her cool at a fashion show! Read on to know why

Apparently, the designers were ‘disgusted’ with Kalki’s antics and they pinned the blame on her marriage which has gone kaput due to Anurag’s fondness for Huma Qureshi. As Kalki didn’t get to give her side of the story, she took to the social networking sites to vent out her frustration at the designer duo.
Kalki tweeted, “After a 4hour wait in lehenga, jewellery make up they have the gall to call me mentally disturbed! Riddhi Siddhi, dp designers shame on you! Not seen a more disorganised show than #glamourstyleweek2013 where the organisers called me off the ramp when I’m the showstopper! No wonder actors turn into divas.”
The Dev D actor didn’t stop till she was calm. In another tweet she said, “That’s the only language some people understand. By the way I am mentally disturbed but its certainly not because of my hubby;).”

Though the Ek Thi Daayan actor took to Twitter, she refused to speak about the matter. She said, “Please speak to my manager as I am working right now. I don’t want to get distracted with this.” Hmmm… Calm down, pretty lady!

Why is Ekta Kapoor playing the blame game?

Ekta Kapoor's Blame Game

First she blamed Shahrukh Khan for the poor box-office response of her film
Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbaai Dobaara (OUATIMD). Reportedly, OUATIMD was supposed to release on Eid but after few months it was revealed that Shahrukh Khan and Rohit Shetty will also release Chennai Express on Eid. Ekta agreed to reschedule OUATIMDbut on one condition that the makers of Chennai Express will withdraw the film on August 15 to make way for OUATIMD in at least 2000 halls across the country but that didn’t happened as Chennai Express was doing very good business at the Box Office. After blaming Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar for Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara’s failure, it seems that Ekta’s new target is Imran Khan.

Then the TV moghul’s next target was none other than the lead actor of her own film. Yes, you read it right. Apparently, Balaji head honcho was miffed with Akshay Kumarfor not promoting OUATIMD in full swing. Akki’s attitude irked the TV queen.

After SRK and Akki, Ekta has now started blaming Imran Khan who was also a part of OUATIMD. Buzz is that Ekta is having a lot of differences with Imran because the latter did not agree with some of Kapoor’s promotional strategies. We hear that the rift has widened so much that Imran has been replaced by Shahid Kapoor in Ekta’s next production, Milan Talkies, which is being directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. When Ekta was asked about this replacement, she said, “People have different opinions, and they don’t always need to agree with each other. Milan Talkies needs a certain amount of aggression and push. I’m not commenting on any actor; I find it embarrassing to discuss that.”

Who is Karisma Kapoor’s new love interest?

Karisma Kapoor in love again

Going by the latest goss, it seems the blue-eyed beauty has indeed found someone special

Few years ago, Karisma Kapoor grabbed headlines when her marriage hit rock bottom and since then the Raja Hindustani actor has been living with her mother in Mumbai. Now we hear this B-town yummy mummy has found new love. Apparently, the man in question is from US and a graduate from Duke University. It is learnt that Lolo meet this mystery guy while she was accompanied by her girlfriends Malaika Arora Khan and her sister Amrita Arora Ladak.

The duo, it is believed are in the initial stages of their relationship and are still trying to know each other better. Looks like Ms Kapoor has finally moved on and is ready to fall in love once again. We hope just like her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma too has a happily ever after ending  this time around.

Minimum Wage Jobs Won't Be Replaced With This Robot Anytime Soon

NEW YORK -- The poster boy for the movement that opposes a major increase in the minimum wage is a burger-flipping fraud.
A Japanese "robotic chef" that was held up Thursday as a hassle-free alternative for restaurant owners sick of dealing with human line cooks would simply not be able to do the job, the machine's manufacturer told The Huffington Post.
The Motoman SDA10 robot gained brief notoriety Thursday when it appeared on a full-page ad in The Wall Street Journal that stated "robots could soon replace fast food workers demanding a minimum higher wage." (The ad is reproduced below.)

Friday, the Japanese electronics giant that manufactures the robot told HuffPost that the machine was designed for industrial applications and would not be able to replace a cook in a restaurant.
"The robot does not have a real capability for that," Sam Komiyaji, a marketing manager at Yaskawa Motoman, said in a phone interview from Tokyo.
Komiyaji explained the picture was taken at a 2009 exhibit that was a marketing stunt intended to show the industrial robot has a greater degree of flexibility and dexterity than competitor's offerings. Similar stunts have seen the same robot deal cards and serve ice cream. During the exhibit, the robot was placed in a carefully constructed kitchen and was able to dump a bowl of pre-mixed batter on a hot griddle, flip a savory okonomiya pancake with a spatula, and serve the meal.

Body Clock Study Offers Clues To Possible Jet Lag Cure

LONDON (Reuters) - Scientists have found a genetic mechanism in mice that hampers their body clock's ability to adjust to changes in patterns of light and dark, and say their results could someday lead to the development of drugs to combat jet lag.

Researchers from Britain's Oxford University and from the Swiss drug firm Roche used mice to analyze patterns of genes in an area of the brain called the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) - which in mammals pulls every cell in the body into the same biological rhythm.

They found that one molecule, called SIK1, is key to how the mice responded to changes in light cycles.

When the scientists blocked the activity of SIK1, the mice recovered faster from disturbances in their daily light and dark cycle that had been designed to induce a form of mouse jet lag.

Best Places To Vacation And Indulge Your Vices

Vacation is a time to indulge. For many, that indulgence may be lazing around in a beautiful place and doing nothing very much at all.
For others, indulgence may come in a less...innocent...form. Whether your poison is liquid, herbal, material or menacing, we've found the best cities to vacation in for your vices.
Gambling
monte carlo casino
If you crave the thrill and challenge of gambling, you're probably a regular in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and other casino-filled destinations in the U.S. But make a big trip of it and enjoy the luxury of Monte-Carlo, where you can gamble at a world-famous casino and play amongst the well-heeled and well-dressed.
Smoking Tobacco
cigar
Gadling recently released a list of the best vacation spots in the world for tobacco smokers. According to their findings, the cheapest place in the world to buy a pack of cigarettes is Indonesia at $0.64 a pack. So for a cheap, smokes-filled vacation, you know where to go. If it's cigars you love, you should take a trip to Switzerland. Take a ride on the Davidoff-Schiff -- a floating cigar haven where you can sample dozens of cigars and spy on Swiss celebrities that frequent the ship.
Smoking... Other Things
denver marijuana
Obviously, there's Amsterdam. But if you want to check out somewhere new, head to Colorado, where new, historic marijuana laws were recently passed, allowing for the sale and use of recreational marijuana to adults -- residents and locals beginning in January 2014. Make sure to read over the rules and regulations before going, but if you're a fan of herbal refreshments, you definitely need to head out west, where pot tourism could very well boom.
Drinking Beer
bruges beer
Do you dream of foamy glasses of ale? Do the words "hops," "IPA" and "fermentation" make your heart skip a beat? Then you need to take a beer vacation. That's not a vacation on which you just drink beer. It's a beer-centric vacation. For a U.S. adventure, head to Vermont. It's a small state with a ton of breweries -- themost per capita in the country -- meaning you can see (and drink) a lot without traveling too far. The state is home to nearly 30 craft breweries and a number of brewpubs and and beer festivals.
Internationally, you've got tons of options, but one place you have to check out is Bruges, Belgium, where you can sample hundreds of kinds of Belgian beer, visit brewpubs and some of the only Trappist breweries in the world. That's beer brewed by monks. Heavenly.
Drinking Wine
loire valley vineyard
If savory reds and citrusy whites are more your style, then a wine tasting adventure must be your next vacation. Tuscany and Napa Valley are great, but for a truly definitive experience head to France's Loire Valley, where some of the finest wine is produced in lush, beautiful vineyards. Not only is the region incredibly beautiful, but it produces a diverse array of wines -- there are five distinct wine-producing regions including Muscadet and Sancerre.
Taking Risks
kawarau bridge
Adrenaline junkies can get thrills all over the world. But for a truly death-defying vacation, thrill seeks must take a trip to New Zealand. It's probably one of the most beautiful places you can go to paraglide, sky dive, bungee jump, mountain bike and white water raft. The country is basically the thrill capital of the world. Make sure to take a scream-inducing ride on the Nevis Swing -- the largest swing in the entire world and take a jump off of the Kawarau Bridge -- the world's first bungee-jumping location.

Israel Requests Viagra For Soldiers

The Israeli Ministry of Defense raised some eyebrows when it sought prices for a product usually associated with pursuits more lusty than war. The request in question? A large supply of Viagra for Israel Defense Forces.
The news came from a published ministry tender seeking "1,200 tablets of 100 mg. sildenafil citrate, the active ingredient in Viagra," according to Haaretz. The pills were reportedly for soldiers with erectile dysfunction.
This request might've come as a surprise to some, considering the Israeli Army hasn't always been so accommodating to active duty soldiers seeking that certain pharmaceutical boost. In fact, Haaretz notes that in 2005, the Israeli Army banned members of its Air Force from taking Viagra before flights. This was following research, such as study from the Casey Eye Institute, linking viagra to ocular side effects, including inhibited color perception and blurred vision. Since then, Viagra has been investigated for potential performance enhancement effects, to mixed results.
The Defense Ministry declined to comment on the tender, citing privacy concerns.
Officials shouldn't feel embarrassed, though. After all, Israel is hardly the only country to offer medical help for soldiers experiencing sexual dysfunction. Indeed, the United States Department of Defense has spent lavishly on the cause.

The Most Liveable Cities Of 2013

Officials in Melbourne, Australia, would like to inform you the Victorian capital has now been ranked the world's most livable city for three straight years.
The Economist Intelligence Unit, the group responsible for ranking the most liveable cities, explains that top scores tend to go to "mid-sized cities in wealthier countries with a relatively low population density." Calculated on a yearly basis for the EIU's Global Liveability Report, the rankings take the following into account: stability, calculated via crime rates and other forms of civil unrest; access to and quality of healthcare; culture and environment; availability of and quality of education and infrastructure. Each factor was weighed on a 100-point scale to calculate an overall rating. To break the top 10, cities need a score of 95.7 or higher.
In addition to Melbourne's claiming of the top spot, Australia dominates the ranking, with four cities in the top 10. Canada fares well, too, with three Canadian cities falling in the top 10.
CNN notes 28 cities saw their scores drop due to "civil unrest" resulting from "the Arab Spring,
most liveable cities
European austerity and Chinese discontent." The bottom 10 cities for liveability include Tehran, Iran, and Tripoli, Libya. At the bottom of the list, with a "stability" score of 20, is Damascus, Syria.
Find out which cities made the top ten in the slideshow below.

The quake, which also injured 21 people, shook a wide area, including scenic Shangri-La and Deqen counties in Yunnan province, and Derong county in Sichuan province, just to the north.
The China Earthquake Administration said the morning quake had a magnitude of 5.9, with the U.S. Geological Survey saying it was 5.8.

Egypt Spy Bird: Authorities Detain Migratory Bird Citizen Deemed Suspicious

CAIRO -- In a case that ruffled feathers in Egypt, authorities have detained a migratory bird that a citizen suspected of being a spy.
A man in Egypt's Qena governorate, some 450 kilometers (280 miles) southeast of Cairo, found the suspicious bird among four others near his home and brought them to a police station Friday, said Mohammed Kamal, the head of the security in the region.
There, officers and the man puzzled over the electronic device attached to the suspected winged infiltrator. On Saturday, a veterinary committee called by concerned government officials determined the device was neither a bomb nor a spying device.
Instead, they discovered it was a wildlife tracker used by French scientists to follow the movement of migrating birds, said Ayman Abdallah, the head of Qena veterinary services. Abdallah said the device stopped working when the bird crossed the French border, absolving it of being an avian Mata Hari.
With turmoil gripping Egypt following the July 3 popularly backed military coup that overthrew the country's president, authorities and citizens remain highly suspicious of anything foreign. Conspiracy theories easily find their ways into cafe discussion – as well as some media in the country.

Kenneth Copeland, Texas Televangelist, Under Scrutiny After Measles Outbreak

The teachings of televangelist Kenneth Copeland and his family focusing on the virtues of trusting God to keep healthy are under scrutiny after a cluster of measles cases linked to his family's North Texas megachurch revealed many congregants hadn't been vaccinated against the highly contagious disease.
Kenneth Copeland Ministries has won supporters worldwide through television programs, crusades, conferences and prayer request networks. He was a pioneer of the prosperity gospel, which holds that believers are destined to flourish spiritually, physically and financially.
Although church officials were quick to act after the outbreak – including hosting clinics in August where 220 people received immunization shots – and have denied they are against medical care or vaccinations, people familiar with the ministry say there is a pervasive culture that believers should rely on God, not modern medicine, to keep them well.

Fiona Apple Walks Off Stage At Louis Vuitton Event, Yells, 'Predictable Fashion!'

Dave Chappelle wasn't the only one who lost a battle with unruly crowds on Thursday: Fiona Apple, who's as famous for boldly speaking her mind as producing well-received music, was performing at a Louis Vuitton event when things started going south.
According to Women's Wear Daily, Apple wasn't pleased that attendees seemed to busy being seen than appreciating her performance. She tried to quiet down the Tokyo crowd by calling them "rude" and implore they "shut the f--k up," and even climbed her piano at one point, to no avail.
She continued to play, however, until she eventually lost it. In a flurry of fantastic Fiona-ness, the singer apparently yelled “Predictable! Predictable fashion, what the f--k?” and stormed off the stage.

Miley Cyrus' VMAs Performance Was A Success, Says Her Manager

The fact that stories about Miley Cyrus' VMAs performance, like this one, still persist four days after the singer dry-humped a foam finger on the Barclays Center stage is a testament to its success. That, however, hasn't stopped Cyrus' manager from speaking out and dispelling rumors that Team Miley is "freaking out" after the raunchy show.
"We were all cheering from the side of the stage," Cyrus' manager, Larry Rudolph, told Us Weekly of the 20-year-old's friends and family, including her mother, Tish. "It could not have gone better. The fans got it. The rest eventually will."
Previously, Us Weekly reported Cyrus' team was in panic mode after the performance, as an unnamed insider claimed team was unaware of was was about to go down on stage: "They saw the rehearsals, but those were really played down compared to the live performance."
