Zookeepers hit a hump in the road when trying to weigh a camel, but they were able to tempt him on with a target stick!
It's that time of year again! The zookeepers at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo are beginning the long (and necessary) process of weighing their 2,500 adorable animals.
Taking measurements is vital to tracking animals' health and well-being. Although weighing a frog isn't too difficult, trying to persuade a camel onto a scale is totally different. Zookeepers had to get creative by using treats, toys and specialized equipment to lure some of these guys into cooperating.
Just hop on the scale! It's easy for a wee lil' frog!
