Datawind, the manufacturer of Aakash tablets, has launched three affordable Android tablets under its UbiSlate series – the UbiSlate 7Cx, UbiSlate 3G7 and UbiSlate 9Ci. The first two are 7-inch tablets which come equipped with voice calling capabilities, while the UbiSlate 9Ci offers a 9-inch display and data connectivity over Wi-Fi. These tablets are priced between Rs 3,999 to Rs 6,999.
The UbiSlate 7Cx is the cheapest among the three tablets and is available for Rs 3,999. Talking of specifications, it comes with a 7-inch TFT display and runs on a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor with 512MB of RAM and 2GB of internal memory. On the software front, it comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich on board. It offers cellular connectivity on EDGE, a microSD card slot and microUSB support, and also features G-sensor. DataWind says that the tablet comes with its web-delivery platform that allows the device to deliver “the fastest mobile web experience on regular GSM-EDGE based networks.”
