As the most intelligent glam queen of B-town turns a year older today, we wish her many happy returns of the day
Born on November 19, 1975, Sushmita Sen is a true glam diva and a certified head turner. One look at her and you will be mesmerised with her magnetism. Sushmita is certainly not your regular B-town star. She is brainy, beautiful and one of the finest conversationalists of all time. No wonder then she was crowned Miss Universe in the year 1994. Do you know that Sushmita was all set to back out from the Miss India pageant when she discovered that Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan) was a participant too? But Sush’s mum taught her how to overcome her fears. Since then the actor has been taking all kinds of competition in her stride.
She started her film career in 1996 with Dastak, and went on to work in movies such as Biwi No. 1, Nayak, Samay, Aankhen, Main Hoon Na , Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya to name a few. The Bong babe-the mother of two adopted daughters Reneee and Alisah-has always maintained in her interviews that if not for her mum, she wouldn’t have made it to where she is today. Sush believes that motherhood is the best gift she has received to date and she is enjoys being a mother even as she straddles continents, explores the world and walks the ramp with grace and élan.
