Acer’s forthcoming PC runs on Android and is powered by Intel Haswell processor: Report

In what could trigger a breakup of an age old relationship, Acer is set to announce a new PC, as early as next week that will run on the Android OS, CNET reports. In terms of pricing this new PC will be much cheaper than traditional Windows PCs priced just above $400 (Rs 21,600 approximately).
According to report, Acer’s PC is likely to feature a 21.5-inch full-HD display, will be powered by Intel’s i5 4430 Haswell processor clocked at 3GHz and run on Android OS. Additionally the PC will also include 1GB of RAM and around 8GB of internal storage that will be expandable.
The report further mentions that PCs or laptops running on Android could be a new trend as companies try to reverse the current slump in the PC market. As Android powered systems require less hardware compared to their Windows counterparts, it could open up a new segment of laptops retailing between $200 and $300.
