Ekta Kapoor has avoided a clash with Rohit Shetty’s much awaited romcom Chennai Express, starring Shahukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, and pushed the release date of her film to Independence Day
Bollywood was all set to witness the fiercest box office battle as Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again – starring Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, and Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express – featuring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, had locked horns for an Eid release this year. However, Ekta Kapoor, the head honcho of Balaji Telefilms, has now postponed the release of her much-awaited film by a week’s time. The sequel to Milan Luthria’s 2010 hit will hit the screens on August 15 instead.
Ekta’s decision is quite surprising since she had fixed the film’s release date last year itself. So what made the TV czarina push it further? Well, we have no clue on that one but it sure is a win-win situation for all – especially, the industry titans – Akki and SRK. Good luck!
