The price hike is to offset the cost of OBD (on-board diagnostics) complaince changes and freight.
The Indian automakers are reportedly, gearing up for another round of price hike, most of which should take effect from April 1, 2013; this time to offset the cost of OBD (on-board diagnostics) compliance changes and increase in freight.
The first automaker to get aboard the price hike ship is Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) who have announced an increase in prices by up to 2 per cent across its entire model range. The revised prices will be effective from April 1, 2013.
"We we are increasing car prices from April 1, 2013 by an amount of up to 2 per cent. The details are still being worked out," a company official said.
