Lava today launched the Etab Xtron+ tablet, which is an upgraded version of its Xtron tablet unveiled earlier this year. The company was rumored to release a new tablet with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which it claimed to be India’s first 7-inch tablet to run this operating system. However, instead of rolling out a new device Lava has chosen to cash on the popularity of Etab Xtron by launching these features on another variant of the tablet.
In terms of specifications, though most of the features remain the same, Lava has upgraded some major features to more efficient and latest versions. Like the previous version, this tablet also features a 7-inch TFT display, 1.5GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor powered by a quad-core Mali 400 GPU with 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal memory expandable up to 32GB using microSD. There also is a 2-megapixel rear camera along with a 0.3-megapixel frontbcamera. The interesting part is that Lava has enhanced the battery of the product from 3,500mAh to 3700mAh which it claims will provide up to 5 hours of running time.
Also, along with other connectivity features like 3G via dongle, Lava has added an HDMI port to the tablet.
The tablet is available for an MRP of Rs 7,770, which is Rs 1,000 more than the previous version. However it is available on online channels at a best buy price for 6,990.
