The 'Unapologetic' singer barely apologized for being late.
It had all the trappings of a diva disaster: 2,500 suburban Chicago high school students on a Friday afternoon and one pop princess.
The pop princess did not disappoint: Rihanna kept a gymnasium full of Barrington High School teens, winners of a contest she sponsored, waiting more than 4½ hours today. And when she did finally take the stage, the Unapologetic singer, looking demure in a bomber jacket and pencil skirt, all but brushed off her tardiness: "Thank you guys for coming and waiting."
The fruits of the freshman-to-senior fidgeting? Sixteen minutes of sharing space with a superstar, reports the Chicago Tribune.
At 4:22 p.m., Rihanna posted a picture from inside her vehicle with the caption, "This Chicago traffic is not working."
RiRi was apparently apologetic to the school's principal earlier in the day and sent students more tickets to her Chicago concert tonight.
