Farah Khan’s Happy New Year has been grabbing headlines lately. But this film actually dates back to 2005, when it was meant to be Deepika Padukone’s Bollywood debut. However, it was shelved for that time and the leggy lass made her debut oppositeShahrukh Khan in Om Shanti Om, also directed by Farah. After her Tees Maar Khanwas a box office dud, Farah started reconsidering her abandoned project. And once the script was ready, Farah went on a hunt for her leading lady, to be cast opposite Shahrukh Khan.
